Shirenewton Church Fete

10 June 2000

Thank you everybody - Last year we made £3,200; this year we made £4,500! What a fantastic result!

We had wonderful weather this year. Mrs Pam Cornaby opened the fete and presented the prizes. For the first time in many years the Brownies had some competition for the prize of Best Float - they came joint first with the Shirenewton Tai Kwon-Do Club float.

The sun was out most of the time, but nobody got too hot because of a gentle north-westerly breeze, which coincidentally wafted the smoke from the barbecue away from all the other stalls.

A thousand thanks to all those people who helped with making the Fete the success it was.

Our Rector, Hugh Trenchard was much in evidence with his camera at the ready. As soon as the pictures are developed I'll put them up here. Meanwhile, here are a few of last year's photographs.
